LeoSat to explore New Satellite Broadband Options for Enterprise January 30 th at world’s leading business technology event
Ft Lauderdale, FL – 30 January 2019–
LeoSat Enterprises, the company building the world’s first business backbone in space, announced today that its SVP Americas, Michael Abad-Santos, will be presenting at ITEXPO, held January 29 – February 1, 2019 at Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. ITEXPO is the communications and business transformation event where influential buyers gather to make their purchase decisions. For 20 years, executives, technology buyers, sellers, resellers and manufacturers from companies of all sizes and industries assemble at ITEXPO to forge new business partnerships, collaborate and learn together and from one another. Dozens of conferences sessions, keynotes and panels will be focused on helping attendees move their businesses forward.
On January 30
th at 1:00pm in Broadband Untethered: New Satellite Broadband Options for Enterprise, Michael will be outlining LeoSat’s unique system architecture – a space-based MPLS network providing Gigabits of secure connectivity with lower latencies than fiber, opening-up new possibilities for Enterprise looking for scalable, flexible solutions for their expanding networks.
LeoSat’s Michael Abad- Santos said: “I’m delighted to be participating in the ITEXPO
Hot Topics in Tech Panel which focuses on “New Satellite Broadband Options for Enterprise. Satellite is often seen as a last resort for enterprise communications. But with capabilities beyond satellite and fiber, including transmission speeds of 10+ gigabits per second and latency of 20 milliseconds, LeoSat’s infrastructure is what data communications has been waiting for – a game-changing service which realizes the synergies of both worlds to re-define connectivity in terms of capacity, latency, security, efficiency and coverage. Using our unique backbone in space we can provide fast and ultra-secure point-to-point data connections to and from anywhere on earth without the need for any terrestrial landings."

LeoSat is backed by leading satellite operators SKY Perfect JSAT and Hispasat, and the system is being developed in conjunction with Thales Alenia Space, a company with unmatched expertise in designing and manufacturing low earth orbit constellations. The high-throughput satellites (HTS) in the constellation will form a mesh network interconnected through laser links, creating an optical backbone in space which is about 1.5 times faster than terrestrial fiber backbones, thus creating a paradigm shift in the use of satellites for data connectivity – rather than a gap filler or last resort where no terrestrial alternative is available. LeoSat was recently granted a license by the FCC to operate its network in the U.S.
Registration for ITEXPO is now open. For the latest ITEXPO news, updates and information follow the event on Twitter at @ITEXPO.
About LeoSat Enterprises
LeoSat Enterprises was established to leverage the latest developments in satellite communications technologies to develop and launch a new low-earth-orbit satellite constellation which will provide the first commercially available, business grade, extremely high-speed and secure data service worldwide. With up to 108 low-earth-orbit communications satellites in the constellation LeoSat is the first company to have all the High Throughput Satellites (HTS) in the constellation interconnected through laser links, creating an optical backbone in space which is about 1.5 times faster than terrestrial fiber backbones and without the need for any terrestrial touchpoints. This unique set of features enables LeoSat to provide instant infrastructure from anywhere to everywhere which is fast, ultra-secure and reliable. Based in Washington DC, LeoSat is currently working with Thales Alenia Space for the low-earth-orbit constellation of Ka-band communications satellites. Once operational, the constellation will provide high-speed, low-latency and highly secure communications and bandwidth for business operations in the Enterprise, Telecom, Energy, Maritime and Government sectors. Launch of the constellation is expected in 2020. www.leosat.com
