The death of POTS has been greatly exaggerated. Contrary to reports, the FCC’s August 2022 deadline did not mandate POTS retirement, only its deregulation. That means prices are likely to go up while service and repair issues accelerate, creating yet another incentive for businesses to move to digital alternatives – and another opportunity for MSPs to deliver value to their customers. This panel will discuss the reality of POTS, the opportunity for MSPs, alternatives to POTS, and how to navigate support for non-communications devices (access systems, security systems, elevator phones, etc.), and how POTS replacement can be done efficiently and cost effectively.
