Now that some of the hype has subsided, business leaders generally recognize where there is immense potential for Blockchain and distributed ledger technology to digitally transform business. But, those of us tasked with enabling it know that there is a big difference between the hype of running a proof-of-concept and implementing a solution that is truly enterprise-ready. One of the challenges is the complexity of mission-critical applications that may be subject to regulations. They must be approved, certified, supportable and dependable, requiring a much longer implementation across an ecosystem. The question is, how to introduce blockchain into the enterprise while creating value and managing expectations? This session will share tips for getting your organization started on its blockchain journey without becoming overwhelmed. Attendees will understand steps they can take to discover where blockchain technology can play a role in their projects, delivering business outcomes in the nearer term that can be used to prove its worth, and to understand the technology and the impacts more deeply setting up more ambitious future projects.

The Blockchain Event (Room 203)
Real estate is one of the oldest industries in the world yet still lagging in innovation. Blockchain and crypto have entered the scene to reshape and disrupt it. Until now, high-value assets, such as real estate, have been transacted exclusively through legacy processes and face-to-face with hand signatures. However, digital channels and crypto payments are now changing that. The introduction of smart contracts and blockchain can eliminate intermediaries, reduce weeks to days, open buyers to fractional real estate sales, tokenization of property assets, provide greater liquidity, higher security against fraud, greater efficiencies, and cross-border trust. In this panel, some of the hottest and most disruptive topics are discussed and how all of this is changing the way real estate will forever do business.

Future of Work (Room 204)
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way businesses run forever. With many businesses now opting for a hybrid way of working for the foreseeable future, this calls for a fundamental shift in security priorities. And for good reason – data shows that more than half of IT leaders believe employees have picked up bad cybersecurity behaviors since working remotely, and the majority of IT professionals predict a spike in ransomware attacks and targeted phishing scams.
What does this mean from a cybersecurity perspective? The session will discuss risks associated with hybrid working and a remote workforce and how intelligent technology like AI and machine learning can help secure human behaviors on channels like email in a hybrid workforce. As businesses adapt to this shift in employee working patterns, attendees will hear about how to empower employees to adopt safe cybersecurity behaviors and make smart cybersecurity decisions; which threats pose the biggest risk to businesses, and how employees could be targeted; the role CISOs and other IT leaders will play in the new hybrid workforce, and more.

Remote work is here to stay. It’s that simple. It’s not a novelty anymore; it’s not something that a few businesses or verticals are doing. It’s the reality of the today’s workplace, whether that’s a flexible model, permanent remote workers, or a hybrid situation. Many businesses have seen extremely high levels of success with remote working in the past two years, yet others have struggled. Having the right tools is a big part, of course, but there are other elements to a remote/hybrid business strategy that ensure the tools are effective in driving success, including education, support, access, and corporate mindset. This session discusses the kinds of strategies successful companies have adopted, the pitfalls others have encountered, and how to effectively transition to and promote a healthy, productive model, regardless of what that looks like in your business.

Carriers that have implemented STIR/SHAKEN have seen positive results. But smaller carriers, which have an extension until June 2023 to implement STIR/SHAKEN, have the most trouble containing robocalls and a high percentage of “bad” robocalls originate on those smaller networks. Even though STIR/SHAKEN and call-filtering apps have led to a small percentage of high-risk robocalls originating from Tier 1 networks, consumers likely won’t notice an immediate change in terms of robocalls they receive following this first STIR/SHAKEN deadline. In addition, another important deadline recently passes: As of September 28, 2021, the industry's largest carriers can block traffic from carriers that haven't done their share to mitigate illegal robocalls originating on their networks. This session will discuss what’s happened to date in terms of STIR/SHAKEN implementation, its impact, and, what still needs to be done, and what the September 2021 and June 2023 deadlines mean to communications providers and their customers.

Service Provider Solutions (Room 301A/B)
The last 24 months have seen extraordinary transformation in digital delivery of services. The rush and success of digital services, like telehealth, peer-to-peer payments, and AI-assisted risk management, are raising concerns about privacy and security. Legislators, regulators and state agencies are asking whether the success of these trends comes at the expense of consumers. Successful companies need a strategy that balances new digital services against a growing array of rules and regulations. This presentation will discuss the changing nature of the legal and regulatory landscape with a focus on cutting edge business models and the related legal issues. It will address issues in marketing, like the changing use of technology in content, social media, email, online transactions, and customer-facing services, as well as compliance risks for developers, investors, and third-party service providers.

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have captured the public’s attention. Celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, and Mark Cuban have spent millions on collectibles, like Bored Ape Yacht Club and virtual real estate. However, the tokenization of digital assets offers a much wider breadth of applications for managing assets, logistics, sensitive data, commerce and more. This session will provide an in-depth look at how NFTs can be – and are – utilized in various real-world scenarios across supply chain, finance, healthcare, cannabis, media, real estate, consumer credit reporting, and more. Speakers will address how companies can capitalize on the growing appeal and utility of NFTs, harnessing their immutability to eliminate fraud, while bringing unprecedented efficiency, transparency and investment opportunities.

MSP Security Solutions (Room 303B)
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses struggled with managing cybersecurity and compliance mandates and issues. New remote and hybrid models have further complicated the situation and introduced new security and compliance risks. At the same time, with cyber attacks on the rise, protecting data is more important than ever. It presents a huge opportunity for MSPs, who are already trusted to manage their clients’ IT. Security and compliance are a natural extension and can increase the value of the trusted relationships between MSPs and their clients. But, it requires MSPs to understand compliance requirements in order to deliver that trust effectively and create long-term value. This session will help MSPs capitalize on the compliance and security needs to expand relationships with existing clients and generate new business. The session will discuss new and emerging compliance requirements and standards, the connection between security and data privacy, effective vendor cyber risk evaluation, and how to integrate compliance and security into a comprehensive service portfolio.

Future of Work (Room 204)
According to US Department of Labor Statistics, 35 percent of all workers are Millennials, with the number expected to increase to 75 percent by 2025. These are people that have grown up on social media, mobile devices and the gig economy, and are quite comfortable and successful working as freelancers and contractors. Businesses recognize this is a viable and talented workforce, and are increasingly using gig workers to handle both strategic and tactical assignments. The challenge for both the organizations and workers are finding intuitive, secure and efficient tools that will work uniformly outside the corporate firewall. Businesses need to ensure compliance with data protection and security mandates, while the workforce wants to use the tools that are comfortable and efficient for them.
This vendor-neutral session discusses the advances in integrated workstream collaboration capabilities that address the needs of both businesses and modern workers. Attendees will understand the concept of integrating collaboration, workstream and payment capabilities into a single platform, and how this functionality enables businesses to reduce costs while satisfying workforce expectations – including real-world examples to illustrate mission-critical business requirements.

Keynote Presentation by Cisco - Making Hybrid More Human: Communication Doesn’t Equal Connection - Open to all Badge Holders
K-02 After two years of predominantly remote work, we’ve all witnessed what can happen without real human-to-human interaction – the missed cues, the lack of immediate feedback, mistaking an awkward silence for negativity and losing your flow. There are certain tenets of human interaction – body language, gestures, eye contact, involuntary reaction to micro expressions, and the ability to establish trust – that have remained constant through the onslaught of technological advancements over the past few decades. The data tells us that trend is unlikely to change.
As people begin to return to the office and businesses accept hybrid workplaces as the norm, what if you’re the one not in the office – how can you possibly feel connected to the discussion at hand and contribute in a meaningful way? To remain inclusive to both in-office workers and those at home, it’s imperative for leaders to use technology in a way that strives for the human connection, that human experience that provides an intangible feeling of co-presence.
Join Elizabeth Bieniek, Internal Startup Founder at Cisco and Co-Founder of Webex Hologram as she explores the key tenets of effective human interaction and describes real world examples of how 3D meeting technology is being used by companies today, helping make hybrid workplaces more human.

Delivering on Expectations: Network Strategies and Tools for Reliable Service Delivery
MSP-12 The network is the key to MSPs success. Whether that’s their own network that enables reliable service delivery to their countless customers, or the networks they manage for their customers that allow those businesses to function each day, the network is really the core of MSPs’ businesses. At the same time, there’s a limit to the human resources MSPs have for network monitoring and management. That’s why having the right network management tools is critical to dependable service delivery without stretching resources to the point where business suffers. This session looks at the network challenges MSPs can face, especially as they continue to add new services to their portfolios, and what tools and solutions are available to help support them and ensure they can meet their SLAs.

It’s one thing to be able to identify cyber attacks. It’s something different to be able to actively – and even proactively – respond to them and avoid business disruption and compromised data. With many new data regulations already in place – and more likely to come – not to mention the sheer volume and scale of cyber threats, businesses need to have security solutions that go beyond merely indentifying breaches. They need more modern, more comprehensive security strategies. That’s where MDR (Managed Detection and Response) offers a path for MSPs to deliver better and more holistic threat mitigation solution across their customers’ various attack surfaces, and increase confidence their customers’ assets remain safe and secure. This session will discuss why MDR is the next generation of security services and how MSPs can build MDR into their offerings.

Businesses have a massive set of tools and data at their disposal, but instead of making it easier to connect with customers and build their brands, they find themselves drifting further apart. Their digital tools haven’t closed the gap – they’ve widened it with more layers between brand and customer – so messages and ideas get diluted in the constant white noise. The problem is most businesses are trying to solve digital problems using traditional methods – a Sisyphean task with the massive amount data streams. That’s where artificial intelligence comes in. This session will discuss how brands can create more relevant and contextual interactions, how they can truly prioritize customer service and retention, and deliver the experiences customer expect – all while balancing the ongoing need to generate revenue.

Historically it has been very difficult to manage the overall lifecycle of growing data volumes. For years’ service providers have been advising clients to keep three copies of their data, in two different media types with one off-site copy (3-2-1) for a more effective data protection strategy. Today organizations are left with multiple copies of different data sets that are unstructured in several locations, leaving PII exposed and vulnerable to unauthorized users. In this session, learn how to understand the three pillars of data intelligence and automation, how to build data intelligence solutions into your MSP service offering, and how to get started with a data assessment program.

As an MSP, you have choices – many of them – when it comes to the vendors you work with. Of course, your vendor partners should deliver a high-quality solution, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It must also be profitable. Does the vendor partner provide other benefits as well? What kind of training and support do they provide? What about marketing and sales materials and tools? What about post implementation support, such as up-selling customers and troubleshooting? This discussion explores many of the ways vendor partners can add value to their relationships, and why selecting the right partner is a key to MSP success.

The Zero Trust concept is founded on a “trust nothing and verify everything” principle. It effectively takes security down to the lowest common denominator, assuming everything poses a risk, until verification it does not. As IT environments continue to change, a Zero Trust strategy not only helps secure corporate networks today, but also extends the same level of protection to new attack surfaces as they emerge. It’s not a new strategy, but it has become a major opportunity between constantly reported breaches and the emergence of new IT and work models that increase risk exposure. The increased focus on Zero Trust is an opportunity for MSPs; this session will explain that opportunity and what MSPs need to know to turn it into a differentiator and a revenue stream.

DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) isn’t new – it’s been around for 60 years, since the birth of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action in the 1960s. During the past few years, though, it has come into greater focus than ever due to cultural awareness, demographic shifts, and current events. In addition to addressing those issues, DEI and Allyship initiatives also improve the bottom line. McKinsey reports that the most diverse companies outperform their less diverse counterparts by as much as 36%. Having an effective security solution in place is one thing. Having the resources to manage holistic security for customers in the wake of constant threats is something else. Just as their clients don’t have the resources to effectively manage security, most MSPs don’t have the resources to build and manage a full 24x7 Security Operations Center (SOC). By moving to a SOC-as-a-Service or Managed SOC strategy, MSPs and their clients can rest more easily with the confidence that their entire IT environments are constantly being monitored and managed by security experts with that as their singular focus. In this session, MSPs will understand why a SOC-as-a-Service will help them deliver better security services and expand their capabilities more efficiently and cost effectively than trying to do everything on their own.

Banking and finance have been moving painfully slowly on when it comes to embracing crypto- and blockchain-based solutions, even as some major players in the financial sector have openly launched blockchain projects. Regulation, of course, plays a strong part in keeping a slow and steady pace, but even that is changing. PayPal and others have made moves to circumvent banks by enabling users to pay securely with cryptocurrency. At the same time, we’ve seen major policy shifts and regulatory statements from leading financial authorities and institutions globally. Morgan Stanley, for instance, became the first bank to offer access to crypto funds. What does this all mean for the future of banking, as traditional banks and other financial institutions seek to delivering enhanced digital customer experiences, while maintaining a focus on security and privacy? This session will look at the impact of blockchain on the banking industry, what banking will look like five and ten years down the road, and what it means for customers, both retail and commercial.
